Losing it all!

Sometimes losing everything leads to new beginning. When you have start losing everything you have accumulated over the years, it feels as if your life as starting anew. Here,I am talking in the context of losing weight which I have accumulated in great proportions in last few years.Let me be honest here ,I am a great foodie and have been gorging on food wherever  I go.I haven't been so conscious about what do I eat.Consequently, I have piled my weight at alarming rate(it has been at such a stage where my shirt buttons are on the verge of coming off ) &I haven't been exercising regularly either.

I have been reading a book Dont lose your mind, lose your weight.I have been now really alert about all the foods, which increase calories and are good for health.I have been trying to adopt the 4 principles which have been mentioned in the book.1)Eat in the first hour of the morning.2)Eat atleast 4-5 meals a day.3)Eat more when active and less when passive.4)Eat atleast 2hrs before you sleep.& exercise 3 times a week.

Application
As Lee Iacoccaa says Apply yourself. Get all the education you can, but then, by God, do something. Don't just stand there, make it happen.
Though I have started applying the principles  in last few days.I have been eating the right thing at right time in last 5 days to be precise. It really feels good when you have eaten 5 small meals upto 7pm in the evening and don't feel to eat anymore at dinner. It really takes time to accept mentally when you are used to eating late in the evening ,love eating pizzas, fried items, streetside food, sweets.I have been really focused to avoid all these foods lately.

Proactive Approach

I have avoided going to eat at  public places not to be lured by the fast food.I have cleaned off all the chocolates and sweets in the fridge.I am learning to say no to people when they offer me fast foods and other avoidable stuff.I have even stopped going out with friends to eat at least for the first month in order to install the habit of eating right.

Accountability
I  measured my weight  which can acts as a barometer for my progress. It is a reference point I use in order to move forward towards my goal.So far I have stuck to the schedule.I will measure my weight after a month in order to account my progress.I have announced my goal of losing weight to all my friends and family members which has increased accountability. Whenever I drift away from my goal I have been reminded by them.

Exercise: A challenge
Though I am still not able to install the habit of exercising which is a prerequisite for my progress towards this goal, it has become a challenge to install it.I am finding  ways to motivate myself  to do some exercises or maybe play some games instead.I am thinking of enrolling in a Gym in order to install the habit of exercising because exercise forms a crucial part which complements the diet plan and will yield much better results.

I will update how this plan goes.....
